Pickleball is a fun, fast-paced, competitive game, but every once in a while, we need to remember to laugh at our mistakes or the moments that may frustrate us on the court.

Who Are The King & Queen Of Pickleball Laughs?

You may have heard of The Holderness Family, and then again, maybe you haven’t! That’s what this blog is for: to introduce you to, who we feel, are some of the funniest pickleball parody people out there!

Kim & Penn Holderness have been married for 15+ years and have been creating YouTube content, since 2013, consisting of original music, parodies, and making vlogs that takes a humorous approach and highlights the quirks and silly moments common in everyday family life.

They have two kiddos and a family dog, named Sunny. They honestly seem like really cool, fun people and I’m grateful that they spend their time entertaining people with their gifts!

From Parodies To Pickleball

More recently, in 2022, The Holderness Family started creating pickleball videos that portrays many of the humorous and stereotypical aspects of the beloved sport in a lighthearted manner.

As an addicted pickleball player myself, the video below is insanely relatable to people, like me, who discovered the game and absolutely fell in love…and became obsessed!

It’s been a real treat watching their pickleball videos and being able to recognize exaggerated scenarios of real life situations!

One of my favorite videos of theirs is all about folks from the Midwest. I, (Kim), grew up in the Midwest, so to see a video exaggerating the apologetic and kind, supportive personalities of the midwest pickleball players in the video below was absolutely hilarious!!

Remember To Laugh!

Although all of the videos from The Holderness Family aren’t directly related to pickleball, I think a great lesson they’ve been able to share with people is to remember to smile and laugh while enjoying the game of pickleball.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m in it to win it, but one the key elements to a successful pickleball game is focus! If you get caught up thinking about what you did wrong on the last play or get distracted by an opponent with bad form, or some other distraction, it’s easy to forget to enjoy the game.

After all, that’s why we all love pickleball right? For the enjoyment and fun of the game! It’s fairly easy for most people to play and pick up and it’s great for people of all ages and skill levels.

So, thank you Holderness Family for bringing a smile and a good laugh to thousands, if not millions, of people!
